For small tattoos (under 10cm), we often accommodate walk-ins same day. For larger pieces like sleeves or back tattoos, we recommend booking 3-7 days ahead. How much does a small tattoo cost?
Small tattoos (5-10cm) start at 800,000 IDR (approximately $55 USD). Price depends on detail, not just size. A simple symbol costs less than intricate fine-line work. Send us your design on WhatsApp for an instant quote.
Can I get multiple tattoos in one session?
Yes! Many clients get 2-3 smaller tattoos in one sitting. For multiple larger pieces, we recommend spacing them out over consecutive days for comfort and optimal healing. We offer package deals for multiple tattoos – ask about our “Bali Collection” discount.
Do you use modern or primitive tattoo methods?
We use the name Primitive Tattoo, but we use all modern tools, needles and techniques in our process from idea to completed ink.
Do you provide temporary tattoos?
We do not, everything Primitive Tattoo in Seminyak offers is permanent tattooing services.
Is getting a tattoo in Bali safe?
Yes. The standards and quality of equipment now used in many (can’t speak for all) tattoo shops is very high and similar to what you would expect back home from needles to sanitation. Make sure you spend time researching or watching your studio of choice doing other tattoos so you get an idea for their process and cleanliness.
Primitive Tattoo uses high quality imported Ink and needles (brand new needles every time opened in front of you), everything is sanitized and wrapped, and we have dedicated cleaning staff.

Why are Bali tattoos so cheap?
Tattoos in Bali are typically cheaper than most major countries like America, Australia and throughout Europe. This is due to several reasons, lower cost of living in Bali, expenses, utilities, supplies to do the job etc are generally lower and of course a large amount of tattoo shops and artists all competing for your business.
Do you tip a tattoo artist in Bali?
Bali has a no-tipping culture, which means that residents and tourists aren’t expected to tip anywhere they go, this means its completely acceptable for you to just pay the price of service rendered. However, if you are happy with your tattoo then by all means tip your artist- I am sure they will be grateful
Can you touch up my tattoo?
Yes, no matter where you got your tattoo ink, we can fix, correct and touch up your tattoo. We provide free touch ups on all our work for up to 6 months
How far are you from the airport?
Primitive Tattoo Bali is located in Seminyak, its a 24 minute drive from the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in normal traffic conditions, plan on 40-60 mins in traffic.
